Q. How does Acclaro Scheduler save development time?
A. There is an optimal sequence to both coding and testing software. If a developer is coding on the optimal coding path, returns to previously completed components are avoided. If testing is performed in the optimal sequence, test stub and harness writing is minimized. Acclaro Scheduler, with technology covered by patents pending, lets developers visual circular dependencies that increase coding work and identify the optimal coding and testing paths for consideration in implementation strategy.

Q. What are circular dependencies and how do they impact implementation?
A. A circular call chain (Component A calls B calls C calls A again) creates a coding loop called a circular dependency. This both violates good object oriented design and creates loops of coding that consume programmer time. Acclaro Scheduler identifies these to the developer and, if the developer chooses to leave the circular dependencies in place, will group these dependencies together on an implementation schedule to minimize their impact on the schedule.

Q. How does Acclaro Scheduler provide change impact assessment on my legacy code?
A. Reverse engineering legacy code into your UML editor provides visualization of your existing design. Then, after adding new components or selecting the components to change, Acclaro Scheduler will analyze the dependencies between new and modified components and generate an impact report summarizing the impact of these changes upon the rest of the legacy code.

Q. Do I need to have 100% complete UML models to access the benefit of Acclaro Scheduler?
A. Complete UML models are not required. Acclaro scheduler will let you optimize for the information available. Clearly, the more model information that is available, the more valuable the scheduling information. In legacy code analysis, since the entire model is available from the code, the value is maximized.
